The Humane Society of Sarasota County is the area's premier no-kill shelter and relies solely on contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations. HSSC receives no federal funding, nor are we funded by any national humane organization.
Your donations help HSSC continue its mission to engage the hearts, hands, and minds of the community to help animals. Programs offered include pet adoptions, humane education, pet therapy, a pet pantry, a volunteer program, and a full-service, affordable animal clinic that is open to the public.
Event Overview
Paws on the Catwalk is non-stop fun from the time the doors open at 10:30am for cocktails and shopping from 10 fantastic retailers, including local favorites like Influence Style and Malibu Fox all the way up to Saks Fifth Avenue. We'll be selling entries for our premium raffle, where guests have a 1-in-30 chance to win 5 awesome prize packages, each one valued at $1,000 or more.
Around noon we'll go into the ballroom, where we'll kick things off with husband-and-wife acrobat duo Cirque Vertigo doing a gasp-inducing balancing act (the same one they perform at NBA and other professional sports games across the country). Our soundtrack is by the tremendously talented DJ Jonathan A. Cortez, aka The JAC of All Trades, who will do live vocals and beats. After a delicious lunch, we'll have a live auction featuring items like a once-in-a-lifetime trip to South Africa.
The most important part of the event is "Raise Your Paw," where we'll raise lifesaving funds for the Humane Society of Sarasota County's mission. The event is capped off by a fabulous fashion show with professional models and hot looks, all produced and styled by Influence Style. We'll announce the raffle winners at the very end.
It wouldn't be an HSSC event without some scruffs and fluffs, so of course we will have adoptable animals and pet therapy teams there the entire time.
